1. ACTIVE IN BSU AND CAMPUS ACTIVITIES.

involved in BSU prior to becoming interested in missions - a well-rounded individual - someone who can be comfortable in different environments

2. MATURE CHRISTIAN WHO IS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF A SOUTHERN BAPTIST OR NATIONAL BAPTIST CHURCH.

mature meaning flexible, non-judgmental, open, accepting
mature meaning well-grounded in Biblical faith; evangelical
mature meaning has an understanding of servanthood; is willing to live and work in the mission setting in circumstances not designed for the missionary's convenience
student should be active NOW in a local church

3. GOOD PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH.

has no history of health problems which would impair service - adaptable; common sense

4. WILLINGNESS TO SERVE AS A MISSIONS VOLUNTEER.

understands what it means to serve while receiving only money for expenses
has experienced a sense of call to which the student has responded in faith

5. HAS TAKEN CLASSES AT LEAST ONE SEMESTER OF THE CURRENT ACADEMIC YEAR PLUS:

Home Missions: completed the freshman year (approximately 30 semester hours)
Foreign Missions: completed the sophomore year (approximately 60 semester hours)
